Designed to last for generations, the Rabelais 80 Corten and Black Steel Fire Pit by INGRILL by INSUN pairs a Corten steel cabinet with a black powder-coated bowl. Handmade from thick steel, welded and assembled in France, it warms your outdoor space and brings your loved ones together around wood-fired cooking.

A finish designed for the outdoors

The upper section is powder-coated in black, applied as a powder and then cured at 200 °C. This eco-friendly, non-polluting process makes the surface resistant to heat and weather. The Corten steel cabinet contains phosphorus, copper, chromium and nickel: it develops a protective patina that preserves the metal, even after years outdoors.

How the Corten patina develops

1. 1 to 3 months: a yellow/orange tint appears. Please note that run-off may stain wooden or concrete floors during this period.
2. 3 to 6 months: the patina darkens and becomes more resistant.
3. 6 months to 1 year: the colour evens out and run-off stops completely.
4. 1 to 2 years: the cabinet reaches its final shade, a unique dark brown.

Installation and use

In the version without castors, the fire pit stands on adjustable feet that protect your floor and ensure perfect stability. During the first months of weathering, remember to protect sensitive surfaces. Dinner with friends or an evening by the fire: the Rabelais 80 becomes the meeting point of your garden.
