The VINCI 100 Corten steel fire pit by INGRILL combines convivial cooking on a generous 100 cm diameter plancha with the warmth of a real wood fire. Handmade in France, it is designed to stay outdoors all year round and develop its patina over time.

Key features of the VINCI 100 fire pit

• 10 mm thick stainless steel plancha: once hot, it curves slightly inwards so that cooking fat drips straight into the fire.
• Stainless steel central grill (optional), 46 cm in diameter, for grilling over the embers.
• Thick Corten steel: 2 mm for the base unit, 3 mm for the cooking bowl.
• Practical base unit: a removable shelf lets you divide it into two sections, and a holder fixed to the side keeps your utensils to hand.
• Easy handling: the fire pit comes in two parts, the bowl and the base unit.

Corten steel, a material built to last decades

Corten steel is a modified steel to which phosphorus, copper, chromium and nickel are added. This composition allows it to rust on the surface but never to the core: it can therefore stay outdoors for several decades without deteriorating.

The patina process, over about 2 years

• 1 to 3 months: the fire pit is covered with a superficial yellow/orange layer of corrosion. Take care with wooden or concrete terraces: during this phase, rust run-off may stain your floor.
• 3 to 6 months: the corrosion layer becomes darker and harder.
• 6 months to 1 year: the colour evens out and the rust layer becomes very solid. There is no more run-off.
• 1 to 2 years: the fire pit reaches its final colour, a more or less dark brown. Each Corten sheet is unique, and so is its shade.
